IC: Appointment Post

Want to thread with Kouki but one or both of us don't want to put up a new post/log just for it? Can't wait for him to make a post for the interaction? This post here is for threading it out at anytime, anywhere.

Cliff? Yeah, I got a minute. [When he heard Cliff's voice, he almost dare to hope it's about his headphones.]

[It was definitely about the headphones.]

I hope you don't mind if they're not exactly one hundred percent the same, but I think I got'em working.

They're 'bout ninety-nine percent the same. But, you can be the judge. We need your player to test 'em properly anyway. Where's a good place to meet?

[He would've prefer a hundred percent, or even more than that if he can be silly.

But he take what he can get.]

I think I don't mind that, as long the sound quality's not completely terrible.

[Where to meet? Hm.] There's the usual plaza, you could come to my place or I could swing by yours.

[It wasn't silly. Cliff felt the same about his tech-- it was just well above the level of headphones.]

I'd say it's pretty good, but you're the man that counts here. We'll make it delivery. Where are you at?

My place right now. [Hmmm.] I guess we can meet at the plaza, or the restaurant for something to eat.

[No offense, man, but maybe he can invite Cliff to his place over another day.]

[He didn't blame Kouki. There were unspoken rules of decency-- he wouldn't have invited Kouki in either at this point.]

The restaurant it is. See ya there in, what, twenty?

Right. See you there!

[Close the journal to get himself ready quickly, then leave. Kouki might be going a little faster than normal. Unsurprising, really, since it's his headphones waiting for him.]

[Kouki was lucky that Cliff wasn't the sort of guy to keep someone waiting. He'a already there by the time Kouki arrives, leaning against the wall near the door with a paper bag in hand.

There are a few sparkles lingering on the outside. Totally not his fault.

He didn't beat around the bush when he caught sight of Kouki. Complicated greetings weren't his thing.]

Yo.

[When Kouki see Cliff waiting for him, he give the taller man a wave as he walks over.]

Hey! Hope I didn't keep you waiting long.

[His eyes glance at the paper bag, guessing that his headphones are inside it.

...Are those glitter on the bag?]

[...:| It was a long story.]

Nope. Not at all. Was thinking on dropping in for a bite to eat anyway, so it's no fuss.

Aah- [He held out the bag.] Here. Did you bring your stuff?

[...Do tell.]

Yep. [He hold up his MP3.] Got this to test out the sound with.

Great. Let's give it a shot.

But first-- promise me you won't freak out.

[He raise a brow.]

Okay...? I'll try not too freak out too much.

[Cliff carefully opened the bag and held the opening toward Kouki, waiting for the younger man to make the move. They were his 'phones after all.]

[He take a step closer and reach inside the bag, taking out his 'phones.

...

He stared at his headphones, covered in glitters.]

Glitter?

Hahahaha-- [He scratched his head, grinning at the sheer absurdity of the situation they found themselves in.]

There was a Shift involved. Sorry 'bout the sparkles.

[Although he was well aware that it was no excuse. The glitter overload that Souji left in his wake had seeped into everything that was in that room, including the 'phones. He made good on his word despite the mess, and had even managed to repair the cover with minimal residual damage, but there were some things that would just take time to fully fix.

And patience. He was willing to help, but he had a feeling that Kouki wanted the accessory returned to him as soon as it was possible.]

[Cliff got that right. Even if Kouki use temporary headphones from the store, they don't have that exact same feel as his catphones. Or the level of fondness he have for them.]

Eh? Don't worry about it! I could just clean them off later.

[Beside, he kinda like them. But the glitter might go everywhere, especially into his hair whenever he put them on.

Speaking of putting them on...that's just what he's going to do. He smile at the familiar weight and light pressure, before connecting the cord to his MP3.

Playing the music...]

[The glitter just added a special touch to the 'phones after all. That was good enough for Cliff to let that concern go.]

So. How's it sound?

[,small>Kouki looks up at Cliff, giving him a grin.]

It sounds great! [Sure, it's not a hundred percent perfect, but it works well enough by his standards.] I'm happy enough with how it sounds to me.

Hey, that's great! [Cliff returned that grin.] Now you don't need to worry anymore.

Just...if you don't mind. [He raised his hands to his head, mimicking the look of the headphones.] Why do they have ears?

Ears?

[He should've expected that question. He raise a finger and tap the headphones.]

They're just a design choice, otherwise they'd be a pair of ordinary, boring headphones.

Hmm...

Makes sense. I thought they were kinda cute, but most guys wouldn't go for that sort of thing.

No shame in it though. Gotta respect a guy who can go for cute things with pride.

Yep. I don't mind if other people like them or don't, I like my 'phones and I take pride in them.

[Plus they're a present from someone special to him, so there's that as a factor.]

It would be neat to see other people wearing something like these, but for now, I'd be the unique guy around here.

[He smiled.

He liked this kid already.]

Yep. Gotta respect a guy like that.
