Day 26 - Accidental [Voice]

[When he returned, a certain young demon overlord would seem almost unrecognisable at first. One such indicator was the lack of his trademark headphones. They’re still back in his apartment, previously dropped during that kidnapping last year. He’s also seemingly unaware of his now blue wings, like he used to have when he first arrived in Luceti a few years ago.

However, his behaviour was...odd, almost like a New Feathers, and his journal picked up on it without his notice.]

Brother? Where are you, my brother?

[His accent sounded old and unfamiliar. It’s unsurprising, since it’s from the time before the shattering of languages.

But he’s still lost and worried. It’s not like him to get lost so easily, when he was following his brother very closely.]

...Is this a test from the Lord? Or did a demon lead me astray?

[It’s a few of the assumptions Abel the Shepherd have in mind. They’re the most logical reasons he can think of at the moment. One of his wings twitches, and he glance at it with a curious yet baffled look.]

If so...why do I have wings? I am not an angel.

[He was surprised when he first saw them. How? Why? He can ask all the questions on his mind, but Abel wouldn’t know how to approach this. That may be why he's speaking his thoughts out loud.]

...My Lord?

[Can God hear his words? Of course He can, but will He send him a message?]

(OOC: So Kouki now thinks he's Abel. As in the Bible Abel. Memories wise, the murder haven't "happen" to him yet. Will last for about a week.)

But where in the forest?

[Near a river? Near...any landmarks? Ah, to hell with it.]

Nevermind! I'll find you anyway!

[Uhhhh, okay??]

I will not go anywhere.

[And he's curious to see Tao in person.]

Good! Be right there, meow!

[...Except she won't exactly "be right there", on the dot. It'll take her a while to navigate the forest and find him. Though she's familiar with it by now, given how long she's lived in Luceti, it'll still take her a while to track down a certain blue-haired young man while running at top speed. When she finally does, she skids to a stop on all fours.]

[Once Tao found him, Abel is looking around at the animals that still walks in the cold winter. His gaze eventually stopped when he saw her.]

...Are you Tao?

That's meow!

[She points a paw at herself proudly.]

[He looks at her, examining Tao carefully. Not human or any animals he know, just...Taokaka?

And she's going to lead him to the village.]

I will be in your care, Tao.

Just leave it to Tao!

[And with that, she waves a paw, motioning for him to follow her as she starts a quick walk toward the village.]

[He follows after her, making sure to keep her in his sight. Abel doesn't want to get lost yet again.]

[Tao walks quickly, though getting distracted by random animals or insects does make them veer a bit as she chases them a little, before remembering her task. Eventually, however, they do arrive at the village.]

[When they arrive at the village, Kouki looks around in curiosity and awe. It's quite larger than where his family live at. Unsurprising, since he can see some people walking around, each one with their own pair of wings.]

Heeeeere we are! This is the village!

[She waves a paw around, proudly.]

It is...bigger than I thought, Tao.

[And more lively and varied. Not like his family village.]

That's what I thought when I first came here too, meow! But you get used to it.

[She forgets a lot of things, but the culture shock going from a village of 100 to something two to three times that size is...hard to forget, to say the least.]

Is it nice to live here?

[Instead of his siblings and possibly nieces and nephews, everyone here aren't from his family. It might be interesting. ~~I am not touching Biblical lineage~~]

I think so! You can eat anything you want, and sleep wherever you want for as long as you want!

[Best priorities? Best priorities. Oh wait...there's something else.]

...Except for the spearamints.

..."Spearamints"?

[He blinks and give her a curious look.]

[She nods.]

Sometimes, weird things happen. The people might change, or the village might change...

[So specific, Tao.]

Change in what way?

[Specific or not, it doesn't sound so nice.]

Tao doesn't always know! One time, I turned into a meatbun! Another time, I turned into a star thing! I think sometimes, they make people do what they don't wanna do...

[...Just raising more questions, Tao.]

[~~What the fuck is a meatbun~~ That certainly doesn't sound very nice.]

It was all against their will?

[She nods.]

Most of the time, meow.

[At least, that's what she remembers. There are times that she had urges to do things, but she could control most of them.]

Was there no way of protecting ourselves?

[Otherwise...he may consider them as trials from God, in a sense.]

[She shakes her head suddenly.]

They just happen like, whoa!

[She spreads her arms out for emphasis, making waving motions.]

I...do not quite understand.

[You mean like...magic?]

Like...like magic!

[Granted, "magic" held a different meaning in her home world (which she most likely forgot anyway), but it seemed to be the most common, accepted, and easy explanation/translation of "don't think too hard about it".]
