Day 26 - Accidental [Voice]

[When he returned, a certain young demon overlord would seem almost unrecognisable at first. One such indicator was the lack of his trademark headphones. They’re still back in his apartment, previously dropped during that kidnapping last year. He’s also seemingly unaware of his now blue wings, like he used to have when he first arrived in Luceti a few years ago.

However, his behaviour was...odd, almost like a New Feathers, and his journal picked up on it without his notice.]

Brother? Where are you, my brother?

[His accent sounded old and unfamiliar. It’s unsurprising, since it’s from the time before the shattering of languages.

But he’s still lost and worried. It’s not like him to get lost so easily, when he was following his brother very closely.]

...Is this a test from the Lord? Or did a demon lead me astray?

[It’s a few of the assumptions Abel the Shepherd have in mind. They’re the most logical reasons he can think of at the moment. One of his wings twitches, and he glance at it with a curious yet baffled look.]

If so...why do I have wings? I am not an angel.

[He was surprised when he first saw them. How? Why? He can ask all the questions on his mind, but Abel wouldn’t know how to approach this. That may be why he's speaking his thoughts out loud.]

...My Lord?

[Can God hear his words? Of course He can, but will He send him a message?]

(OOC: So Kouki now thinks he's Abel. As in the Bible Abel. Memories wise, the murder haven't "happen" to him yet. Will last for about a week.)

[Hiro pretty much immediately charged to his journal when he heard the familiar voice. He is clearly enthusiastic about his buddy returning from the Mallynap.]

Hey! Kouki! Kouki, is that you? Welcome back! Oh, man, you have no idea how weird it's been with nobody around in the apartment...

[The name didn't get his attention, but the sudden voice did. Startled by the voice, he looks around quickly for the source.

That voice does not sound like one of the angels.]

Who are you?

Eh? Kouki, it's me, Hiro. Don't you remember me?

[Right, of course, he was mallynapped. Any number of things could have happened...]

I apologise, but I do not know of you. [Who is this person?] Ko...ki is not my name. My name is Abel.

[Can Hiro guess what happened to him?]

Oh. Well, there's someone who looks a lot like you whose name is Kouki. My mistake! [Kouki's either been brainwashed or replaced with a completely different person. Might as well go along with it, though. Wouldn't want to shock this poor guy with the "YOU'RE ACTUALLY SOMEONE ELSE" schtick."] Can you tell me a bit about yourself, Abel?

[ .. Well. That doesn't sound like Kouki at all. Sure, it sounds like his voice, but aside from that it's pretty obvious that something probably happened to him.. great. She sighs. ]

I don't think you'll find your lord here.

[He sounds wary but curious. His parents laid down the rule to never interact with outsiders, but they might know something. However, they might be unfriendly.]

...Are you sure? If I can not find him, I am sure the Lord can hear my words.

[entreats]

.. Maybe, I guess. [ she's not particularly religious, but still, she'll agree with that much.. ]

But even so, he won't answer.

Why would He not? The Lord always answer.

[Such a thought is honestly quite surprising.]

A.. ah! Kouki-san, are you alright?! [ Guess who still has your cat. Yeah. This girl here. Although she doesn't immediately get what's going on aside from him apparently being back, so she's just confused and a little worried.. ]

Ko...ki?

[Another person used that name for him. Such a strange sounding name. He stares down at the strange object, blinking at the moving image.]

.. Yes. That's.. your name. [ slowly blinking. ]

Are you saying you don't remember..?

[de_bel_survivor]

But that is not my name.

[For as long as he live, his name is always Abel. He blinks, slightly tilting his head.]

Remember?

[ The strange thing about languages is how the wings' translation works for those who know more than one language. So far, Saten had been hearing everything in the language she shared with humans. But when Kouki speaks in the tongue from before the corruption of language, she hears what's roughly the equivalent: the language she knew before one was created to let her and Yuhel communicate.

Basically, she hears him speaking in Darkness. And this is very confusing. Not quite sure if she should trust what she's hearing, she responds in kind. ]

How long have you spoken this language?

[The concept of having more than one language would have never occur to him. When it's the only human language he know, and interactions with outsiders made strictly forbidden, it just never comes up.

Hearing the question makes him pause and blinks. He would like to ask some more questions, but his honest nature comes first.]

For as long as I live.

[Abel answers, honest and true.]

Who is this?

[Cautious, yet curious. To him, the gentle shepherd doesn't know this voice. It is not his mother's, at very least.]

[ The question catches her by surprise. ]

You don't--?

[ And then she realizes why, despite the oddity, this seems familiar. She's encountered Kouki acting differently before, thanks to their captors' meddling. It's not something she remembers entirely clearly, having been similarly affected at the time. ]

... Saten. Do you still call yourself Abel?

[Unlike that time, Kouki's memories was changed differently. This Abel is not a result of a "what if" scenario.]

Yes, that is my name. How did you know of it?

[Did someone told her?]

[A Headphones Guy without headphones is just...Guy.]

[He blinks and stare at the strange being on the small screen.

Blinks.]

[He did reach a hand up and feel his head. Nope, no bumps. He lowers his hand after he's done.]

[Another voice from this strange thing.] If I am not in Heaven, then where am I?

A whole nother world, friend. Probably unlike anywhere you've ever been. Everyone gets pulled here from different worlds, and everyone here's alive.

[The concept of other worlds is a little hard for him to understand. There are worlds beside the land he lives on and Heaven?]

I do not understand. This is not Heaven...and not the land I was born on?
