Has this ever happened before, people showing up like this? Do you have any idea how so many of us arrived?

Hm, the last New Feathers cycle is roughly one...two months ago? We get new people here every cycle. And I don't know how many new people are here right now...

New Feathers... so those are the ones that show up immediately with wings, then. That doesn't explain all the people here like me. So what if somebody here loses their wings? Would they just grow back?

You'll get weaker from just having the feathers plucked off, and losing one means a lot of pain. If you loses both...you die.

Only to get revived in about a week.

I know some people who have natural wings, but they get another, smaller pair between them. I think they can fly.

Not big enough for flight, from what I know...I might ask one of the long time residents about them.

I heard that this is the fourth year since October. Personally, I've been here since the end of August...almost four months for me.

So you don't have any information from before then... Can you move them at all? I know you said nobody can fly with those wings, but do you have any control over them?

Yeah, I can move them since they're attached to my body.

Yes. But they flooded the entire place and gave everyone gills; mine just aren't real gills. I don't need to breathe, but I wasn't waterproof before I got them. No idea how it works, it just does.



Just a second, I've got to get one more of these things. Maybe something with cinnamon...

Yeah, we don't. For a long time they had the exact same food for us in the cafeteria every single day; fruit was the closest thing to anything sweet. They've started rotating things by the day of the week, though, which is nice.

I'm just banking on this sugar cookie. It's probably a long shot; people find they've gotten weapons back that they had at home all the time and then they've been taken away the next day. So it might not work.

Sounds boring until the menu change. [Yeah, anyone would get sick of it, even after the initial happiness of eating food other than rations and whatever they can grab.]

Even in the time when they got their weapons, it's still hard to escape? [Finding their stuff, only to be taken away, again. Again. And again.] Won't know until you try.

Yeah, it really was.

You wouldn't think so, but it is. One guy couldn't even blow down the walls with dynamite. You never know, though, something might change.
